The ICIR is a co-organizer of the incoming Netspar International Pension Workshop which will be held in Frankfurt on June 17, 18 and 19, 2013. Jun. Prof. Gal and Prof. Gründl will actively participate in the workshop as moderator and invited speaker respectively.

 On April 24, 2013, the ICIR hosted the 4th Seminar on Insurance and Regulation. Guest Speaker was Ms. Daniela Weber-Rey, LL.M., partner at Clifford Chance, Frankfurt am Main office.Title of the speech:
"Corporate Governance, Key Functions and Interim Measures - a call for action"

| Seminar on Insurance and Regulation with Dr. Elke König |

 On October 29, 2012, the ICIR hosted the 3rd Seminar on Insurance and Regulation. The ICIR had the honor of welcoming Dr. Elke König as the guest speaker, who is the President of the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). The topic of her talk was: "Critical Comments on Solvency II".
Before addressing the "critical comments", Dr. König emphasized that Solvency II as a principles-based regulatory regime, being founded on market-consistent valuation, is the right approach to be adapted. It is by far superior to the present Solvency I rules book.
